In Search of Milele Bloom Honey from Laikipia

The Milele Bloom team talking with beekeepers under the trees in Laikipia

Milele Bloom isn't just about honey—it's about giving you the purest taste of Kenya, straight from the wild, sun-kissed landscapes where bees roam freely.

Where the acacia grows

Laikipia North is wide, open country: acacia plains below rocky hills, wild shrubs, and seasonal flowers that follow the rains. People, their livestock and wildlife have shared this land for generations, and it's where our Acacia honey begins.

When the acacia flowers, the bees work the blossom across the plains. The beekeepers keep their hives among the trees, close to the forage, and let the bees set the pace.

Meeting the beekeepers

We came to Laikipia to listen. Sitting under the trees with the beekeepers, we talked about their hives, the seasons, and what a good harvest looks like. Beekeeping here follows the rhythm of the land: the rains, the flowering, and the patience to wait until the honey is ready.

What we heard shapes how we work. We look for honey harvested with care, and for partnerships that last longer than a single season.

Honey like this isn't made in a factory. It's made by the bees, by the land, and by the people who look after both.

From the hive to the jar

Honey from Laikipia North carries the character of the plains it comes from: light, floral and delicate. That's the honey you'll find in every jar of Milele Bloom Acacia.

Before it reaches you, every batch is carefully sourced and lab tested for quality. The taste is the land's; the testing is ours.

How to enjoy it

A light honey like this one is at its best where it isn't covered up. Stir it into tea once the water has cooled a little, spoon it over yoghurt or fresh fruit, or simply taste it straight from the spoon, the way the beekeepers do.

Growing together

Our mission is to source exceptional Kenyan natural products, connect them with more people and markets, and create lasting value through responsible partnerships. In Laikipia, that means working alongside the communities whose land and care make the honey possible.

It's also why part of every sale goes back to the places our honey comes from. Our community empowerment project supports women and young people with practical skills, income opportunities and greater self-reliance, and our education project puts a small percentage of honey sales towards school supplies, scholarships and exam fees.

Our journey here is only beginning. We'll keep coming back, and we'll keep telling you what we find.
